No. 52 overall on the Global 500, Moscow-based natural gas giant Gazprom is the most profitable Russian company ever to make the list. Because it controls a quarter of the natural gas market in Europe, Gazprom has enjoyed incredible pricing power that helped pushed net income up 37% last year, to $20.3 billion, on revenues of $81 billion.
