Now that Whole Foods has a $6.7 billion market cap and Wal-Mart sells naturally grown chard, the organic movement's founding fathers are looking for their next big hits.

First act: After stints at Tropicana and ConAgra's Healthy Choice, Hughes became CEO of Boulder teamaker Celestial Seasonings, which sold to natural-foods giant Hain for $387 million. Hughes made $20 million.

Second act: Hughes created a $100 million SPAC (special-purpose acquisition company) in 2005; in May the SPAC paid $465 million for Smart Balance, a heart-healthy margarine brand he plans to expand.
