This time around JC Flowers found itself on the other side of the table when the firm's deal to sell the Dutch investment bank collapsed.

Citing market turmoil, Iceland's Kaupthing Bank decided to not go through with the acquisition. JC Flowers is not alone in its plight. Fellow sellers included ABN Amro, Shinsei Bank, and Banco Santander
