Monika Ribar
President and CEO
Panalpina
Country: Switzerland
Previous rank: New

Ribar, 49, continues to increase Panalpina's share of the international transportation business. Revenue grew 12.3% in 2007, to $8 billion, but profits are down this year, despite higher margins on some trade routes. Panalpina blames it on the cost of suspending operations in Nigeria after being investigated by U.S. authorities on bribery suspicions. Panalpina is conducting an inquiry into the charges.
