Like Devon Energy, EOG, an independent oil and natural gas producer, supplements high pay with healthy bonuses and rich benefits.

The company pays 100% of employees' health insurance premiums (70% for dependents). All employees get stock options. And EOG offers a company-funded pension plan, as well as a 401(k) with company match up to 6% of pay. The company also awards college scholarships to children of employees: In a typical year, 30 students will receive awards of about $1,600 each.
