President and CEO, Intel

Otellini is the first non-engineer to lead Intel, which maintained its dominance over the $30 billion computer microprocessor market this year. Intel's sales grew by 18% over the past year, while profits rose by nearly 30%. Early this year, Intel closed its $7.7 billion acquisition of security software provider McAfee, a strategic move given widespread security concerns raised by Internet-connected devices from PCs to tablets, smartphones and set-top boxes. Otellini's biggest challenge: The explosive growth of the tablet market, where Intel has struggled to compete against upstart chipmaker ARM.
