White heads the largest U.S. satellite TV provider, with 19 million customers as of early November. DirecTV is also a dominant player in the Latin American satellite market, which
accounts for another nine million customers across the region. In the U.S. White faces stiff competition from rival Dish Network along with telecom and cable companies that are all
fighting for control of the American living room. But DirecTV boasts strong programming, including popular shows like NFL Sunday Ticket, and the industry's deepest HD offerings. That
paid off in the third quarter of this year, when a Sunday Ticket promotion drew 1.1 million new customers to DirecTV.
