Started in 1963 by Jean Nidetch in her Queens, New York home, the diet and management system has become a veritable way of life for millions of people. The company employs over 19,000 individuals and holds 45,000 meetings each week in countries around the world. A major overhaul of the company's trademark Points system back in 2010 doesn't seem to have slowed its progress, either. Sales grew to $1.8 billion last year, from nearly $1.5 billion in 2010.
