(FORTUNE Magazine) – Last month some sixth graders in Brandon, Vt. were seen ''drinking, or pretending to drink'' from beer bottles left the night before by ''young adults'' at the playground of the Neshobe Elementary School. On the basis of the reports . . . it was decided that the students be given breath tests for the presence of alcohol . . . ; Scott Skinner, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Vermont, said that the testing violated students' constitutional rights because officials did not have probable cause to test the entire class . . .
