When I went in, the hiring manager said, "I have no reason to hire you." He explained that I didn't have the right profile to be selling software. I told him that I spent 10 years working with lawyers, so I knew how to build relationships. I specifically talked about what made me successful, and I did a presentation on how I would approach the business in the first 30 days.
